PDF Embedder is a free WordPress plugin that lets you place PDF documents on your website for your audience to view and read. It works in the same way as inserting images and videos in your posts, but it has a Java-script base instead of iframes or any services from third parties. Similar applications include PDF Viewer for WordPress, PDF.js Viewer Shortcode, and WP Booklet

Scrolling through each page is made easy with navigation buttons. It’s also mobile responsive so that your visitors can read the documents from their phones. However, mobile optimization is only available in the Premium package, which may deter many from using the free version.

Embed PDF documents

WordPress doesn’t let you insert PDFs into your pages or posts in a way that your visitors can page through it and read the contents. It’s designed to showcase your media, such as videos and images, or links to external content. 

If you need to make these documents available online, PDF Embedder lets you embed them for each access and viewing. Your audience can quickly click on the arrows to peruse each page, while also adjusting the dimensions for the relevant device.

If you need more functionality, you’ll need to upgrade to PDF Embedder Premium. While the pages are responsive on mobile devices, they may not be optimized for proper reading. The Premium version corrects this for you. Other features include download buttons, clickable links, and a fullscreen mode, to name a few.
